This package includes everything you need to pass the State of Alabama required Trades and Business and Law exams. NASCLA is the National Association of State Contractor Licensing Agencies. One test fulfills the trade exam requirement in 17 NASCLA states.

 

Any contract over $50,000 in Alabama requires an Alabama contractor's license. This license will allow the builder to bid on, build, or modify any type of structure in Alabama except for residential structures. 

This exam will also serve as your trades exam for Arkansas, Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, U.S. Virgin Islands, West Virginia.

Alabama General Contractor State Requirements & Application

*Any prime contractor or sub contractor working on projects where the cost of labor and materials is more than $50,000 is required to have the appropriate Alabama contractor's license.

*Applicants must submit verification of 3 years of experience and a financial statement.

(Employees registering as the qualifying party for an applicant must be in full-time employment for 90 consecutive days immediately preceding the exam.)

*Applicants must have a minimum net worth and working capital of $10,000 in order to qualify for the lowest bid limit classification.

A - Not to exceed $100,000
B - Not to exceed $250,000
C - Not to exceed $500,000
D - Not to exceed $1,000,000
E - Not to exceed $3,000,000
U - Unlimited

Fees: The application fee for a new prime Alabama contractor license is $300. The renewal fee is $200. The application fee for a subcontractor is $150. To obtain an Alabama contractor license application and other forms for Alabama go to Alabama Application
