With this license, the contract may also perform any of the 34 building subcategories for "commercial". The NASCLA exam is also acceptable by Tennessee for the BC-B classification.
Any contract over $25,000 in Tennessee requires a contractor license. This license will allow the builder to bid on, build, or modify any type of commercial structure in Tennessee. This exam will also serve as your trades exam for AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, NV, OR, SC, TN, UT, VA, WV, and the US Virgin Islands. Of those states listed, only Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee require a separate license for residential construction. The NASCLA exam is acceptable by Tennessee for the BC-B classification.

This limit was increased in April 2017.
